A restaurant kept 340 covers moving while we rebuilt their cold side.
When the walk-in compressor seized during the Friday dinner rush, the GM had 20 minutes of ice left and a full house.
Dispatch was on-site in 58 minutes. Initial superheat readings showed 28°F — far above the 10–12°F target — indicating severe refrigerant starving. The TXV needle was carboned and the condenser coil was 40% blocked with grease migration from the exhaust hood. Full TXV replacement, coil chemical flush, and refrigerant recharge to 410A spec. Box was back to 34°F before the last table cleared. The GM had a written root-cause report in hand by 10 PM.
"I've had mechanics who couldn't tell me what was wrong after two hours. He handed me a printed pressure log before he left."
